Good month for single deck buses, but not for coaches

• July bus and coach registrations down three per cent on July 2004
• Rolling year total down 1.8 per cent to 12,426
• More heavy single-deck buses in July; double-deckers continue to decline

‘Bus and coach registrations in 2005 should equal 2004 volumes.’ said Christopher Macgowan, SMMT chief executive. ‘July registrations for heavy single deck buses reflect continued deliveries of orders won from major bus operators last winter. Despite a weak month for coaches and declining volumes of double deck buses, the overriding theme is of stability and balance.’
