‘Despite structural changes in the van market we’re seeing a strong overall growth trend in all light commercial vehicle registrations,’ said Christopher Macgowan, SMMT chief executive. ‘
Truck registrations remain low as a result of the introduction of digital tachographs last May and the change to Euro 4 emission standards in October. These changes caused massive market distortions, but we now see signs of a return to normality, which should mean some 55,000 to 57.000 units a year, in line with the very healthy medium term average for the sector.’
