What products will Farizon have on its stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show this year?
We’ll have three of the five sizes of our SV model on the stand, L1 H1 and L2 H2 for certain. Hopefully we’ll have our largest version, the L3 H3, making its UK debut, too.
How important is the Commercial Vehicle Show to Farizon?
A lot like joining SMMT, attending the CV Show was one of our important milestones right from the outset. It has a place right at the heart of the customer base we want to work with. We really believe the SV offers fleets and users a new compelling proposition, and being at the CV Show give us a platform to showcase what we’re bringing.
The stand we’re designing hopefully reflects that and does justice to the show’s position within the industry. It’s advanced, focused on those visiting us and a bit different, just like the SV.
Describe the new range of Farizon SV vans for the UK market?
The Farizon SV brings several innovations and world-first technologies which offer an appealing combination of practicality with great driver comfort and convenience. For example, the high specification, exceptional build quality and driving experience have already been very well received in the UK.
We’re also confident these key features will be supported by excellent real-world range and charging speeds, also vital to our customers. In the UK, we’ll have five different sizes. These will cover three battery options: 67 kWh and 83 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, with a 106 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery available for the L3 H3 model. All versions will be powered by one all-electric powertrain which produces 170 kW (231 PS) of power and 336 Nm of torque.
Tell us about the safety rating of the vans?
The Farizon SV received a Platinum safety award from Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) with a score of 85 points, making it one of the safest vans ever tested. In the active braking function test the SV achieved a single score rate of 95%, along with perfect scores for both Lane Support Systems (LSS) and Occupant Status Monitoring (OSM).
The SV has some of the best active safety systems in the category, key for our customers – it’s best to avoid an accident if you can and the SV excels at that. However, for those rare occasions you can’t, the SV was designed and engineered to meet or exceed European passive safety standards in every regard through a rigorous testing and development process.
How important is SMMT membership to Farizon?
We joined SMMT under our title as UK importer, so as Jameel Motors UK. It was one of the first things the team initiated when we were setting up in those very early days – not so long ago in real terms.
We’re experiencing one of the biggest – and fastest – periods of change the industry has ever seen, with evolving legislation and regulations making forward-planning very difficult. SMMT provides a powerful, united voice for the industry along with huge insight and experience, so joining was never a question.
We’ll also be using our membership to harness and engage with its automotive events and initiatives so we can build our connections, something that’s vital for any new brand and something else SMMT does so well.
