What type of work does Axtec specialise in?
Axtec is the only company specialising exclusively in axle weighing equipment. We design and manufacture products to combat vehicle overloading, from static and dynamic axle weighbridges, to portable weigh pads and Axtec OnBoard – a vehicle-mounted solution which provides real-time information.
What will Axtec have on its stand at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show?
At our stand – 5G40 – the team will be on hand to demonstrate products, answer questions, and discuss the latest developments in axle weighing technology.
This year, we will showcase our full range of cutting-edge weighing systems, including the 6000 Series dynamic weighbridge, the world’s most accurate dynamic axle weighbridge, delivering total vehicle weights for a six-axle tractor-and-trailer combination in just 40 seconds with an accuracy of +/- 0.2%.
We will also be describing how our connected services are about to revolutionise how fleet managers interact with their vehicles, reducing responsibilities for drivers and greatly enhancing data accuracy.
Visitors to the Axtec stand will also have the opportunity to see our OnBoard Load Indicator, designed to provide real-time weight monitoring for vehicles on the move, plus the XA-10 Portable Weighpads, which offer a flexible and convenient weighing solution for operators who want to perform spot checks on light vehicles.
How important is the Commercial Vehicle Show for Axtec?
We are delighted to be returning to the show for our 25th consecutive year.
Since the inception of the show, Axtec has been a key exhibitor, demonstrating our commitment to providing innovative, durable and highly accurate axle weighing solutions for the transport industry.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to engage with operators, showcase our latest innovations, and reinforce our position as the UK’s axle weighing specialist.
The CV Show 2025 comes at a time of continued success for Axtec, following our recent contract win to supply and maintain the DVSA’s national network of enforcement weighbridges for an unprecedented seventh consecutive time. This ongoing partnership highlights our unrivalled expertise in axle weighing technology and our ability to deliver industry-leading accuracy and reliability.
With our latest technological advancements and our ongoing work with the DVSA, we continue to push the boundaries of precision weighing solutions for the transport sector.
Tell us more about Axtec’s contract win with the DVSA?
The contract includes the regular calibration and verification of the DVSA’s dynamic weighbridges, which is carried out by the company’s two specially-built weighbridge test vehicles. Crewed by highly-trained service engineers, these unique trucks carry purpose-made one-tonne test weights and a fork-lift truck to handle them, as well as a comprehensive range of tools and spares.
Axtec’s in-house construction team also carry out the highly specialised construction work necessary to build the perfectly flat approach slabs essential for accurate axle weighing, as well as annual level surveys to certify their compliance.
The contract carries hefty penalties for late performance, and Axtec is proud that it has never incurred penalties, normally scoring well over 99% uptime.
