Exeter Window Store has taken delivery of its first electric van – a Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic Red Edition – marking a significant move towards more sustainable operations.
The new E-Tech Trafic, supplied by Sparks Commercial Services, is equipped with a R75 electric motor as well as a 52kWh lithium-ion battery, and has a real-life range of up to 150 miles on a single charge.
With zero emissions and zero noise pollution, the van can operate without restriction in highly regulated zones and is suited to the company’s last mile deliveries in urban areas.
The Devon-based uPVC superstore charges the van on site, taking full advantage of its predictable daily mileage.
Its new vehicle features wireless smartphone charger, 8″ multimedia display with wireless smartphone replication screen and upper front bumper, rear lights corners & lateral door rail painted as standard.
There are also rear-mounted reversing camera and parking assistance in the form of front, rear and side radars.
Exeter Window Store, established in 1992, is one of the country’s largest uPVC stores, selling windows, doors, skylights, balustrades, conservatories, orangeries, porches as well as fascias, guttering, cladding, trims, and roofing.
George Otton, Branch Manager, Exeter Window Store said: “For short local trips, it’s absolutely spot-on. The range lasts us most of the week, and we just plug it in when it gets back to base.
“We’ve always used Renault Trucks because the service is excellent and efficient.” The company has also recently added a diesel Renault Trucks Master Red Edition with dropside body to its fleet.
